But how does that look in practice?GAMEPLAYGameplay in Bohemian Killing is a combination of a courtroom drama, and a walking simulator. It can be classified as a first person experience, or a first person interactive story adventure game.The story is set within two time frames. In the present, you find yourself locked up in the courtroom. You're getting acquainted with the evidence, witness testimony and questions posed by the Judge. Each question triggers a flashback - and begins your testimony. During the flashback you find yourself in a Parisian district, with each of your decisions, interactions and action affecting Alfred Ethons' testimony and the final verdict.To help you in your testimony, you'll have access to all the evidence gathered on the case - expert opinions, reports and witness testimonies. Each of them can be (but doesn't have to be!) refuted in a number of different ways.In the Evidence menu you can familiarize yourself with testimonies of witnesses, forensic expertises, physical evidences, etc. They are grouped into appropriate categories, making them easy to find.Sample:A neighbor testified that at approximately 10 p.m. he passed you in the entrance of the tenement house, noticing that your clothes were covered in blood? Try testifying that your neighbor lies and prove that he has a reason to do so. Or maybe you'll get into a bar fight just a few minutes before, so that you can testify that the blood the neighbor saw was yours, and not the victim's? Or maybe you will cut yourself while shaving, covering your clothes with blood that the neighbor sees later? But what if the court finds your time of shaving conspicuous and torments you with even more questions? It sounded good but there are so many flaws.The camera/controls are AWFULThe game doesn't really explain what the hell you have to do..It's difficultTotally gutted and annoyed!!. Its pretty short game with no reply value. When you think about the plot you imagine something that is really better and creative might coming but this thought get dissolves when you progress in the game for 20min.There is multiple outcomes if you want to try different approach and extort some replay value from the game. But game itself is dull so I rather not recommend it. There is some mistakes with the flow of the game & actions. It feels like some logical rules/flowchart elements are hastily implemented in game and game feels like lacking a lot.As result I don't recommend it.. english audio with french accent.my third world ear beg for mercy.. This game, despite some very stark contrasts in it's overall quality, gets a recommend from me, especially for being a unique and intelligent experience. If you don't know anything of French Bohemia or it's historical timeframe, and you don't like court cases, then this isn't for you. If you are intrigued by these factors, and you think you may enjoy the recreation of such a thing, then it is a good buy, especially on sale.Pros:Excellent voice acting and music.Intelligent dialogue and background plot.Mindblowing revelations if you can find them. (NONSPOILER- Following the "anonymous letter" advice, and subsequent reveletory "punchline" to your "invention" had me amazed!)Cons:Controller support is baffingly bugged but playable.Slightly higher in price than it's replayability, although it has quite a bit.Definately not a Triple A title.. Since the developer seem to be new I am going to be merciful despite the bugs/crashes I had. Mainly when you alt tab off or skip too much the conversations u already seen. If you are into crime related games etc. I personally failed completely on the 1st try sorta ( since to be honest I can't symphatize too much with the main character you play) because of expirementing what can you do during your testinomy. + On Paris being pretty af. If all the bugs fixed this would have potential on developing more crime stories and testimony etc in different settings. Still expirementing different endings. Just got less severe punishment because of use of alcohol just to name one of possible verdicts.May add that escaping was satisfying and you found out more of the stuff. Not going to spoil tho'.. Good god. I like the concept of this game - it's very creative. But holy s*** is it ridiculously unpolished. I honestly couldn't play past the first 5 minutes because of a ridiculous amount of issues that popped up immediately.- Controller support is broken. Buttons work, but the up/down look is inverted no matter what option you select. Also, any aiming of the right stick has a noticeable lag to it, as if every time you touch the stick the game take a moment to wake up and realize you want to look in a particular direction.- Even looking with a mouse is kind of broken and randomly inverted itself while I was playing.- Animations are totally ridiculous. The girl screaming in the beginning looks like she's pooping in stop-motion.Take my opinion with a grain of salt because I decided not to give it a chance past the opening - but frankly, there are just way to many better games out there these days to waste time on something that clearly wasn't tested much before release. Hard pass.. Dissapointing mess of a gamePositive+ Concept of the story is interestingNegative- Got stuck in a vent - twice, couldn't get out, reloaded a game, appeared in a completely different place, still couldn't get out.- What's up with a blur when looking down ? Sometimes you have to look down, and you can't see anything- the world is static for the most part, except few things that are actually moving, and even animations are very limited.- The whole product just feels unpolished - you can't skip some cut scenes, some you can, sometimes only by a single line. - What's with the lens flare and special effects? It's overused.- Horrible input lag on controllerOverall, i have no urge to play it again, there is really nothing great about it.. The idea is pretty interesting, but it has a few bugs that break the game that made me give up after my second ending:- Once the judge appeared and pushed me onto a table which rendered me unable to move- Once the game froze while the judge appeared- Once, after my lawyer explained one of the evidences found, and I was supposed to resume my testimony, instead I appeared in my cell without being able to interact with anything. I couldn't even summon the menu.Aside from those:- The game really needs an option to "wait X minutes" without the need to do an activity. Or at the very least, have more activities and in more places.- There should be an option to skip a single line of dialog during the courtroom scenes- You have no way of knowing how most of your actions will affect your testimony, so you basically have to go by trial and error, which makes a victory feel like it's not an accomplishment. Nice game.I've played detective games but not help-murderer-get-away games, it's creative. Basically it's a walking simulation in two of 3-floor-building to look for evidence to make the murderer innocent. It has some logic but more should be given because in most case you can't predict what is going to happen, there' might be no trail to follow and all you do is follow your feeling before your lawyer or the judge revail the connection between your findings and the case. The multi ending is good, but would be better if save slots were given.Main merit is the court scene defend when near end both prosecutor and defendant lawyer gives speeches. Also I like the voice actor guy, even this dude voiced the player, and the player's mom.
